College Football Playoff committee makes clear it will use the 'eye test' to sort out contenders
The College Football Playoff selection committee has revealed its first rankings, with Ohio State taking the top spot
Clemson began the season at No. 4 in the AP poll, and Florida State rose all the way to No. 7 amid a 3-0 start. At one point or another, both were expected to be among the top teams in the ACC and potentially even national championship contenders.
Because of Drinkwitz's success this season and his 10-3 record in 2024, he now has the best odds (-110) to replace Napier in Gainesville. He has a slight edge over former Penn State Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin (+200) and Kiffin (+300).
