American delivery firm UPS has temporarily grounded part of its fleet of cargo planes after a mid-takeoff crash in Kentucky on Tuesday left at least 14 people dead.

Video showed flames on the plane’s left wing and a trail of smoke. The plane then lifted slightly off the ground before crashing and exploding in a huge fireball.

Out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of safety, we have made the decision to temporarily ground our MD-11 fleet. MD-11s are approximately 9% of the UPS Airlines fleet."
