On Sunday afternoon, residents across the southeast Denver metro area began reporting widespread outages.

A large power outage in the Denver metro area on Sunday afternoon left hundreds of thousands of people in the dark.

Xcel said more than 195,000 customers were initially impacted by the outage Sunday afternoon.

More than 4,100 Xcel customers remained without power as of 1:30 p.m. Monday in south Boulder and parts of Boulder County.
