The Steam Frame is a new virtual reality headset from Valve, and it appears to solve one of the biggest problems plaguing many other VR headsets.
The gyro controls also offer a grip sensing feature, which turns on the gyro when you're holding the controller, and disables it when it's released. It also can be used to recenter the gyro. In terms of connectivity, Valve has opted for a proprietary type of wireless connection, which is oddly similar to PlayStation's own brand of Bluetooth it uses for its official controllers. Valve has also given the new controller USB tethered connectivity, as well as standard Bluetooth, to help it connect to any device that can run Steam.

Valve has announced three new additions to the Steam hardware family—Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller. All three will launch in early 2026. Pricing was not announced.
