Dancing with the Stars is celebrating its 20th anniversary next week, and Deadline has the exclusive on the dance styles and songs, plus a new twist

Dancing with the Stars Season 34 is in the back half, and it's reaching a point at which every elimination is going to feel brutal. That said, it was a little more painful if you were a fan of Boy Meets World, as Danielle Fishel was eliminated not long after judge Carrie Ann Inaba was criticized for giving her harsh treatment.

The dance competition's remaining couples salute the legends of rock ’n’ roll as they dance to hits by the Beach Boys, Ozzy Osbourne, Elton John and more.

Drenched in red light, Irwin, son of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin and younger brother of Bindi, who won the 21 st season of DWTS, in 2015, transformed into a matador for a paso doble to The White Stripes' "Icky Thump."

Elsewhere during the show, Tanner Smith and Connor Tomlinson of Love on the Spectrum were seen greeting contestants backstage, as Tanner met and hugged both Robert Irwin and Whitney Leavitt, as well as her dance partner Mark Ballas.

In 2018, DWTS aired a junior version of the competition where a slate of child stars or kids of celebrities competed for a star-shaped mirrorball trophy. The cast included Ariana Greenblatt, Miles Brown, Mackenzie Ziegler and Olympian Sky Brown, all of whom were partnered with a preteen dancer and mentored by a DWTS professional dancer.
