The Los Angeles Dodgers tied the 2025 World Series at one game a piece Saturday, defeating the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-1, behind a complete game from pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
The Dodgers won their second straight World Series, having dispatched the New York Yankees in five games last year. Catcher Will Smith hit the go-ahead home run in the top of the 11th inning, and series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched the final 2 2/3 innings a day after going six innings as the game six starter.
The Red Sox and Tigers will play the biggest series of the weekend. Boston enters a game up on the Tigers for the second wild card, as well as two games up on the Astros for a playoff spot. The Red Sox possess the tiebreaker over the Astros, so another win will secure a playoff berth.
