许多尝试用AI辅助编程的团队都遭遇过这样的窘境：AI生成的代码看似惊艳，却在长期项目中逐渐失控。它们会陷入死循环，代码风格不一致，文档与实现脱节，甚至悄无声息地突破架构边界。LangChain团队的实验证明：在TerminalBench 2.0测试中，同一模型经过Harness Engineering改造后，性能实现了质的飞跃。

为此，斯坦福、MIT 等机构研究学者提出了自动化 harness 搜索框架 Meta-Harness 。它的核心思路是： 不再只优化单条 prompt，而是直接把完整 harness 程序作为优化对象；同时把历史候选的代码、分数和执行轨迹完整写入文件系统，让coding agent 自主检索、分析失败原因并改写 harness，从而把原本依赖人工试错的系统优化过程自动化。
