Texas-based Heidelberg Materials North America has purchased steel mill slag processor Walan Specialty Construction Products.

A steel mill slag processer in Burns Harbor agreed to pay $190,860 in civil penalties for alleged violations of the Clean Air Act in a settlement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
