Robert Suárez is hitting free agency. The star closer opted out of the final two years and $16 million left on his contract with the San Diego Padres on Monday, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Suárez previously signed a five-year, $46 million deal with the Padres in Nov. 2022.
