When buying baseboards in the past, you only had just one choice: natural wood, usually pine or hemlock. Now, the choice of materials for baseboards and trim has expanded to include MDF and plastic.

Q. What does it cost to replace baseboards? Mine are made of dark wood that was painted white, but is now chipping. I’m interested in replacing the existing trim with pre-painted, faux-wood baseboard.
