Black Friday normally falls on the last Friday of November, around a month before Christmas. This gives retailers around four weeks to ship out their stock to shoppers in time for the festive period. In 2025, Black Friday falls on November 28.

Nintendo is stepping further away from its original Switch console, with the company now planning to dedicate most of its attention to its successor. In a financial results briefing on Wednesday, Nintendo said that “going forward, we will shift our primary development focus to Nintendo Switch 2 and expand our business around this new platform.”

On Tuesday, the Japan-based videogame publisher raised its sales forecast for the Nintendo Switch 2 to 19 million units from 15 million units for the fiscal year ending in March. Nintendo also said it had sold 10.4 million units of the Switch 2 through September, along with 9.6 million units of the Mario Kart World game.

In an exciting early Black Friday sale, one tech retailer has just knocked a significant chunk off the price of the older Nintendo Switch OLED model, taking it from £229.99 down to £206.99 when using code FR10 at checkout. Compared to other online retailers, this is currently the cheapest I can find the console anywhere in the UK.

Nintendo is now predicting that it'll sell 19 million Switch 2 consoles by the end of its current financial year, up from previous predictions.
