Record-breaking early voting could reshape New York City’s election outcome
Officials say it’s the highest turnout for a non-presidential election year in city history and four times higher than the early vote count during the 2021 mayoral race.
Democrats celebrated several notable wins after Tuesday’s elections. Major victories include governor races in Virginia and New Jersey, a major ballot initiative in California, and the mayoral contest in New York City. Jimmy Kimmel was happy with the results, saying “we needed a big night.”
Democrats dominated the first major Election Day since President Donald Trump returned to the White House, with major wins in New York City, New Jersey, Virginia and on the Prop 50 California redistricting vote.
