Scientists think about sea level in two different ways. The local sea level is what the sea level is at a specific place compared to the height of the land.

Sea level rise is one significant effect of the changing climate on Earth. A new study using NASA satellite data shows the rate of global sea level rise has been accelerating in recent decades, rather than increasing steadily. The upshot?
