Man-made islands are created by building up land in a body of water, usually through a process called land reclamation. This involves dumping sand, rocks, or other materials onto the seabed to form a solid foundation. Dredgers often collect sand from the ocean floor and transport it to the site, where it’s shaped and compacted to create land above water. Sea walls or barriers are sometimes built to protect the island from erosion and waves. Once stable, the island can be developed with buildings
