One of my favorite feels with a short iron is what I call the Throw Down Drill. Too many golfers make the mistake of trying to push or swing the club out toward the target. That robs you of compression, consistency, and control. Instead, with a short iron in hand, I want to feel like I’m throwing the clubhead and all the energy straight down into the ball.
