Exchange students — here’s the honest placement reality check. There are LOTS of things you do not get to choose on a J-1 high school exchange year. And that’s okay — because some of the BEST exchange years happen in unexpected places with unexpected families. Exchange is about flexibility, growth, gratitude, and experiencing something NEW… not recreating a fantasy Pinterest board. Let go of what you thought your year would be, and open yourself to what it can become.
