Third base is the easiest position to learn and here’s why… The hot corner is definitely a challenging position to play, however, if you have a a player that you want to give some infield innings to, 3B is the easiest to teach and learn. First, the third baseman is on the cutoff on a play to home plate when the ball is hit to left field. Other than that, the 3B just needs to cover their base. Did you catch the third baseman? This is how NOT to cover third base. 1. Don’t stand behind the bag. You won’t be able to reach the runner. And the ball has to travel further (like what we saw in the video). 2. Don’t straddle the bag, runners can bump into you. Instead… 1. Be in front of the bag. 2. Pick a corner.
