The WB Television Network launched on this day in 1995. It was a joint venture between Warner Bros. Entertainmen and the Tribune Broadcasting subsidiary of the Tribune Company. The network principally aired programs targeting teenagers and young adults between the ages of 12 and 34. As the NY flagship station, WPIX created a campaign of local spots to create buzz for the new network. This 1990s station ID is one of our favorites here at the WPIX Archives. Short, catchy and dramatic. It was part of an overall package for news and movie presentations that featured a futuristic New York City.
