Created by Jun'ichi Kōuchi in 1917, The Dull Sword, or Namakura Gatana, is a short comedic anime that was thought to be lost media until its rediscovery in an Osakan antique shop by an employee in March 2008. The 4-minute silent short tells a story about a foolish rōnin's purchase of a dull-edged sword and subsequent attempts at tsujigiri (the testing of a new katana's effectiveness by attacking a human opponent/victim). | The Yurei
