Zajal poetry has been part of Lebanon's culture for decades and remains one of the oldest Lebanese music forms to this day. As opposed to traditional Arabic poetry, Zajal is performed or sang in "Aamiye" or colloquial slang Arabic and is improvised-sung poetry, partially or completely.
