Today I am out exploring with Matthew Holdsworth of Reigate in Surrey. He is showing me some of the town's heritage, notably the first road tunnel, the charming town hall and the ruined castle and grounds. King William I granted the land around Reigate to one of his supporters, William de Warenne, who was created Earl of Surrey in 1088.
