Fainting Goats: Why Do They Faint?
Despite their common name, "fainting goats" do not actually faint at all. The condition with which these goats are affected is known as myotonia congenita. It is a hereditary muscle-stiffness disorder caused by a mutation in the gene encoding of chloride channels in skeletal muscle fibres.
