Mamertine Prison in ancient Rome was the main jail built in the 7th century BC. Sts. Peter and Paul, apostles of Jesus Christ, were once held in captivity while awaiting their final sentencing by the Roman government. While in jail, the now-holy site was also the location where the saints baptized new Christians.

We filmed this acoustic version of Broken Hallelujah in the Mamertine Prison in Rome. It was where the Apostles Peter and Paul were held captive before they were out to death. This is a place where Peter and Paul witness to their guards and they came to Jesus. A place where they lifted up praise in the midst of total darkness. God was with them then and He is with us now! Thank you to @austingavin and @evan.yuen for helping us capture this moment in one take! | The Afters
