Journalist David Bloom dies of DVT in Iraq The award winning journalist and news anchor was embedded with a unit of the 3rd Infantry that had just fought its way to the outskirts of Baghdad and was eager to get up to front to report on US forces entry into the city when a blood clot in his leg traveled to his lungs and caused a fatal pulmonary embolism. The clot likely formed after hours of sitting in the cramped confines of the army vehicle he was traveling in. He was 39 years old. #davidbloom
