124 recruits completed Basic Training at ATC Pirbright this week. They were the first group of soldiers to be welcomed into the British Army since the Coronavirus lockdown. They began training in the first week of 2020. However, in in the middle of their 14-week course they were sent home to comply with government guidelines and continued to complete training online. The British Army has begun to return to training, working within the government guidance on how to keep people safe while Coronavirus remains a threat. With training getting back underway, units are maintaining social distancing where possible and taking sensible precautions to manage the risks where personnel cannot space from each other. Today marks the 64th Anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen’s Accession to the throne. The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery will fire their guns in Green Park at noon and the Honourable Artillery Company’s gun salute takes place at HM Tower of London at 1pm.
