Michael Bowman on Instagram: "🌿 What a Stolon Is A stolon is a horizontal stem that grows above the ground. It’s sometimes called a “runner”, because it runs across the soil surface. Each stolon produces: • Nodes (the little joints along the runner), and • At each node, new roots and shoots (leaves) can form. So as a stolon creeps along the surface, every few inches it can “pin down” and start a new plant — like a natural cloning system."
