We have Common Snapping Turtle hatchlings! 🐢🥚 Their mother was brought to our center this summer following a vehicle strike in DC. Sadly she did not survive her injuries, but she was able to lay all of her eggs in our care. She had nearly 40 eggs! 🤯 After nearly 3 months of incubation, eggs began hatching in late September! Now, 36 eggs have hatched and 3 are unhatched. Many of our hatchlings were released shortly after hatching when the weather stayed warm enough for several days and nights.
