Live steam locomotives were prepared for service throughout the day at the Illinois Live Steamers during the club's 51st Anniversary Meet. Hobbyists could be seen clearing boiler tubes, lubricating running gear, and completing other routine maintenance tasks on their locomotives. After Rio Grande Southern #20 steamed out of the ILS Steaming bays, NYC Hudson #6620 was unloaded onto ILS trackage and rolled into the steaming bays for fire up.
