F.E. Olds played a major role in the trombone and wider brass community from the early 1900's through the 1970's; the Opera was their flagship large bore tenor trombone and while I have most commonly experienced them as straight tenors this 1971 model with F-attachment was a uniquely enjoyable experience! With it's larger .554" bore and nickel silver construction this Opera has a sound and response profile that feels like a modern large bore tenor but with some interesting differentiators. Take
