Traditional Ottoman Art Ebru is an Ottoman traditional art where colorful patterns are created on the surface of water and then transferred onto paper. Artists use natural pigments, brushes, and special tools to shape the floating colors into elegant designs such as flowers or waves. Once the pattern is formed, a sheet of paper is carefully placed on the water to capture the artwork. This technique, developed and perfected in the Ottoman Empire, was often used to decorate books and calligraphy.
