Who doesn't love a mermaid? 🧜 Now on view on our fourth floor, our Mermaid Parade display focuses on one of the largest art parades in the country, which brings thousands to Coney Island every year in June. Entrants march in the parade dressed as mermaids, sea creatures, and mythical figures. This beachy celebration came out of a much older Coney Island tradition that began in the 1900s, and is now run by @coney.island.usa. Coney Island Mermaid Parade 🧜‍♀️ The @MermaidParade is such a unique New York City free event and it’s happening this Saturday (June 21)! The Mermaid Parade is the largest art parade in the United States and has been a @coneyislandfun Island staple since 1983. It’s free to attend and truly so much fun You get to see so many incredible mermaid costumes and people travel from all ove the country to attend this parade. There is live music, costumes, bands, community groups and more. The Parade sta
