Water soluble fabric will dissolve at different rates depending on the water temperature. Basically the hotter the water, the faster the fabric breaks down. Cold water straight out of the tap is perfectly fine to use but the material dissolves quite slowly and if you are not careful you can leave too much behind - which results in unsightly residue on the final piece.
