The shipwreck of the HMS Victoria is notable because it is a rare example of a warship resting perfectly upright on the seabed. The battleship sank in 1893 after a collision during naval maneuvers off the coast of Tripoli, Lebanon, and the force of its fall, combined with its heavy guns, caused its bow to bury itself in the soft seabed while the stern pointed straight up.
