The laughing kookaburra is the largest member of the Kingfisher family by weight. They feed on insects, worms, crustaceans, small mammals, birds, amphibians and they are even bold enough to kill snakes up to 1m long 🐍 Most Kingfishers are brightly coloured and eat fish, but Kookaburras are plain in colour and rarely eat fish 🐟 They get their name from the loud, laughing call they make to determine their territory and to warn other birds to stay away.
