When doing patches like this I always pre fill and pack that gap before I put tape on. Helps even everything out, makes sure the tape doesn’t sink into the gap and give the fibafuse something to stick too. I’m using Easy Sand 20 in the video and FibaFuse. | Drywall Shorty

Pre fill is incredibly important! Before we start taping we go through the entire house with @usgcorp Easy Sand 20 and fill any large gaps, uneven flats, butt joints, and remove any fuzzy drywall paper.
